DC Celebrity Spotting: David Baldacci

Whose this handsome fellow you see above?  Why, it’s famed author David Baldacci. If you’re in the DC area, be sure to head to the Tyson’s Corner Barnes & Noble location this coming Saturday, May 1st @ 2 pm to see this guy in the flesh.  Baldacci will be discussing and signing copies of his new thriller, “Deliver Us From Evil”, as well reading excerpts from the book!  While the new book hasn’t received gold starred reviews, it should still be a really fun event.  Especially, if you plan on being in the area anyway.

Fun Facts About David Baldacci:

  • Born and bred in Virginia, Baldacci received his undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and law degree from University of Virginia–Caroline’s soon to be alma mater
  • Baldacci wrote short stories in his spare time, and later practiced law for nine years outside Washington, DC  (holla!)
  • After much rejection, he turned to novel writing, taking three years to write Absolute Power. It took Baldacci two years to get the book published, but when it finally did hit the shelves in 1996, it quickly became an international best seller.
  • In 1997, People magazine named him one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world –guess we’re not the only ones that think he is a pretty good-looking guy after all 🙂

If you haven’t read any of Baldacci’s other books, you should definitely check them out.  Some of our favorites are the Camel Club series–of course we may be a bit biased since they all take place in our hometown of DC.  Another option would be to buy one of these instead and get him to sign it while you’re there!  Hey, it never hurts to ask, right?

We’d love to hear from anyone who ends up checking out the event!  While you’re at Tysons, be sure to check out one of our absolute favorite stores located just a short distance from B&N, Free People (but be sure to bring your wallet!).

Location:

1961 Chain Bridge Rd.
McLean, VA

(703) 506 – 2937

Free convenient parking available at Tysons Corner–Level 5!
